West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose was admitted to the Command Hospital on Monday after complaints of pain in the heart.
According to sources, tests ascertained that there was a sudden “serious” blockage in his heart, and he will be shifted to a private hospital for bypass surgery and further treatment.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, before leaving for Salboni, paid a visit to the Governor in the hospital. “I had gone to visit the Governor, he suddenly fell ill,” she told mediapersons .
According to sources in the Raj Bhawan, the Governor had fallen ill in the morning.
He is currently under observation and a series of tests related to the heart have been conducted.
Sources said the Chief Minister has asked the Chief Secretary to monitor the situation and take necessary steps regarding the shifting of Governor CV Ananda Bose to a private hospital .
The Governor had recently visited the violence-hit Murshidabad and met with affected families.
