Tinder has updated its “Explore” page with several new categories that might help you find people with similar relationship goals. As part of the update, users can now find profiles categorised in groups like Serious Dater, Long-Term Partner, Non-monogamy, and Short-Term Fun.

In a blog post, the company said that the new categories are designed to help users find profiles that match their dating intentions. For example, the “Serious Dater” category might help you find people who are looking for long-term relationships.

However, only users who have a bio, have uploaded at least four photos and have set their relationship goals to any of the long-term options will be eligible. The company says that almost 69 per cent of individuals who are single are looking for something serious, making it one of the top picks. In contrast, the “New Friends” category seems to be taking a dig at Bumble’s BFF feature that helps people connect with others for friendships.

According to Tinder’s Year in Swipe report, more single people are apparently embracing “Loud Looking,” a trend where people are upfront about what they want and ditch ambiguity in relationships.

Launched in 2021, Tinder’s Explore page offers “a personalized, dynamic space that organizes profiles into curated categories” and shared interests like Nature Lovers, Binge Watchers and more. To use the new tiles, open Tinder on your phone, head over to the Explore page and tap on the tile that matches your dating goals.
