A Mercedes-Benz got stuck in the sand at Dumas beach in Gujarat’s Surat after a stunt by two men went wrong. A video of the incident, posted on Monday, has since gone viral.
The clip shows the stranded car with its two passengers nearby, unsure of how to get the vehicle out of the sand. In the now-viral clip, the men can be seen standing helplessly as the SUV remains stuck.
According to a report in India Today, the incident unfolded after the group drove the Mercedes on the beach – driving is strictly prohibited in the Dumas area due to both safety and environmental concerns. Despite a police patrol, the men managed to enter the area with the SUV.
The reports added that the car was parked dangerously close to the water’s edge. As the tide moved in and later receded, the vehicle sank further into the unstable terrain. Sharing the video, an X handle @kumarmanish9 wrote, “At Surat’s Dumas Beach, a Mercedes decided to play submarine. The rich brats tried explaining, but the car had its own attitude, “I’m not made for roads anymore… sea calling!”

Reports indicated that this is not the first time such a stunt has gone wrong in the area. “These kinds of incidents are happening more often now. People just ignore the rules, and it seems like no one’s around to stop them,” India Today quoted a beach vendor as saying. The authorities are yet to take action in the wake of the latest incident.
In 2021, a video of a BMW SUV stuck in the sand at Morjim beach in Goa drew much flak. According to reports, tourists dismissed local warnings and drove onto the sand, eventually getting stuck. Further, the SUV was pulled out with a tractor, and the tourists involved in the stunt were fined for violating beach regulations.
