TRIGGER WARNING
A video of a Polish tourist plunging to her death after slipping out of her harness mid-flight has emerged on social media. The incident occurred in the city of Roldanillo in southwestern Colombia on January 21.
According to news.com.au, an Australian news website, the deceased tourist has been identified as Paulina Biskup. She did not fasten her harness and fell into the abyss, a local police official told EI Tiempo newspaper. In the viral video, Biskup is seen losing control of her parachute while strong winds throw her around.
As per a report in Dailymail, Biskup, a resident of Dublin, was out on a paragliding excursion with her boyfriend and friends, who were paragliding in another area.

Several social media users slammed the paragliding activity company over safety standards. “i thought reputable companies do a check to make sure the client fastened correctly . the company to blame here . what if she put it on not correct ! it’s the companies fault ! i hope somebody sues them ! hold them accountable!” a user wrote. “What do you mean she did not fasten her harness? The company that does that is supposed to do that for her and check to make sure she is secure. That is complete nonsense,” another user commented.
“This is worrying! An avoidable accident! How could you have ignored such basic precautionary measures, and you are now telling the world she didn’t fasten her harness? It’s an irresponsible statement to make,” a third user reacted.
On January 16, two tourists lost their lives in two separate paragliding accidents in Kangra and Kullu districts in Himachal Pradesh within 24 hours. Bhavsar Khushi from Ahmedabad died after she fell during take-off at the Indrunag paragliding site near Dharamshala. In another incident, a 28-year-old tourist from Tamil Nadu lost his life when a paraglider accidentally hit another paraglider. The incident occurred near the Garsa landing site in Kullu district. The pilots sustained injuries in both incidents.
