In a startling decision by the Brazil judiciary for social media platform X, the company was barred from operating in the country for non-compliance of norms and order of the court. But since X got banned, people and celebrities are facing a tough time.
Elon Musk owned X is facing the brunt as the billionaire owner got into a feud with Justice Alexandre de Moraes who had ordered for the company to shut its shop in Brazil, and the country’s five-member panel of Supreme Court judges also upheld the decision.
Several fan accounts and celebrities have reacted sharply towards the decision to shut the operations of X in Brazil. An account on X named @21metgala has gained over 1,75,000 followers in less than three years but is shutting its shop.

As X closes in Brazil, Metgala is forced to shutter its operations and the owner of the page said she was taken aback by the decision.
According to an ABC News report, Metgala, which was run by 18 year old Maria, had said that most of her followers were not aware about their work origins.

“Most of our followers didn’t know we were Brazilian, so it was a huge shock when we announced it,” she said. American rapper and singer Cardi B also responded to the news with distraught emojis.
Cardi B, who has more than 35 million followers on X, posted “Wait a lot of my fan pages are Brazilian!!! Come back hold up!!”
Elon Musk, in response to the ruling where his X got banned, said “Free speech is the bedrock of democracy and an unelected pseudo-judge in Brazil is destroying it for political purposes.”
Though Elon Musk headed Starlink, which is a satellite Internet service, told Brazil’s national telecommunications agency that it will not be abiding with the decision of the Supreme Court to upheld the banning of X.
