Actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are not just adored by fans for their on-screen charisma, but are also known for their love for delicious, diverse cuisine.

This week, the couple’s private chef, Suryansh Singh Kanwar, offered fans a glimpse into the array of mouthwatering dishes they’ve been savouring at home. “Had such a great time working for this very cutesy couple!” he captioned the post.

Chef Kanwar shared snapshots and videos of the meals he prepared for the couple over the past few days, revealing an appetising variety: from South Indian dosas to soups, omelettes, grilled fish, calamari, paneer, and a mix of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian delights.

Desserts, too, featured prominently, with sweet treats like kheer and a unique bread-and-banana dish. The menu shows a delightful mix of indulgence and nutrition, reflecting the couple’s passion for good food and balanced eating.

Fans expressed their admiration for the chef’s creations. But, how does this mix of foods stack up nutritionally, and what can we learn from their balanced approach to eating?

Ipsita Chakraborty, senior nutritionist at Hungry Koala, tells indianexpress.com, “Alia and Ranbir’s menu offers a glimpse into their culinary preferences that demonstrates the joy of enjoying a variety of foods. There are many things you can learn from them.”

Decoding the menu’s pros and cons

At first glance, Chakraborty says, the menu seems to offer a wide array of flavours and textures, but let’s dissect its nutritional merits:

Is it possible to maintain a healthy diet while enjoying a diverse range of foods?

Chakraborty says, “Absolutely! It is entirely possible to maintain a healthy diet while enjoying a diverse range of foods. The key lies in balance, moderation, and mindful choices.”

Make fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein sources the foundation of your diet, she says. These nutrient-dense foods provide essential vitamins, minerals, and fibre while keeping you satiated.

Chakraborty adds,Enjoy those indulgent dishes but be mindful of portion sizes. A small serving of a rich dessert can be part of a balanced meal.”

Regular physical activity helps burn calories and maintain a healthy weight, allowing you to enjoy a wider variety of foods without guilt. Pay attention to your hunger and fullness cues. Savour each bite and avoid mindless eating.

A healthy diet is not about deprivation. Allow yourself occasional treats and enjoy the pleasure of food without feeling guilty, says Chakraborty.

She concludes, “We can all learn from their approach by prioritising whole foods, practicing portion control, and embracing a flexible approach to healthy eating. By striking the right balance between indulgence and nourishment, we can create a sustainable and enjoyable dietary pattern that supports our overall health and well-being.”
