Before inaugurating the Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela-2025 on Monday, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took a round of the Pusa campus to see the field demonstration of various crop varieties and also met with farmers from different states. When Chouhan was talking to a group of farmers from Madhya Pradesh, a Haryana farmer jumped in and started complaining about the quality of Pusa Basmati 1847, a paddy variety, taking senior officials, including ICAR Director General Himanshu Pathak, by surprise. The officials assured the farmer to look into the issue.
Turban, Welcome
Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying S P Singh Baghel was in Gwalior on Saturday to attend an event to celebrate the 300th birth anniversary of Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar. The event organisers welcomed the minister in a unique way by tying a 111-foot-long turban to him. Locally, people call it saufuta safa (100-foot turban). Elders present at the event touched the turban as an expression of blessings, before it was tied, said a close aide of the minister.
100-day Plan
With the change in regime in the national capital, all the senior officers of the Delhi Police have been asked to prepare a 100-day plan for the law-and-order situation in Delhi following a communication from the Centre. During a traffic police event on Friday, Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, too, told the personnel that since the government has changed in Delhi, people have bigger expectations from them. Traffic police should make a three-month plan to prevent traffic jams and coordinate with the RWAs to address local issues, he said.

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta is still being discussed in the local BJP circles as to what worked for her to bag the top post. The buzz is that after the party rested her in the 2017 MCD polls, she was tasked with coordinating programmes of the top BJP leaders in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, which gave her recognition among those who matter. However, there are voices that believe she had enough to her credit as a student leader in the DU, as a councillor, and as a leader in the Delhi unit to qualify for the post.
