Delhi: 3 killed in Bawana hit-and-run as tempo hits bike

Three persons were killed and one was injured after the motorcycle they were traveling on was allegedly hit by a tempo in Outer Delhi’s Bawana area, police said. The driver of the tempo allegedly fled after the collision, leaving his vehicle behind.

A police team reached the spot and found Bijay (38), Ramakhant (30), Nandu Kumar (23), and another person unconscious and critically injured at the scene. All four in a factory in Bawana where they also lived, police said.

They were rushed to Maharishi Valmiki Hospital in Pooth Khurd, where doctors declared Bijay, Ramakhant, and Nandu dead. The fourth victim was shifted to another hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

Police have seized both the motorcycle and the tempo. A case under sections 281 and 106(1) of the BNS at Bawana police station has been registered, and teams have been formed to nab the errant driver, officers said.

The police have also collected the CCTV footage to corroborate the sequence of the incident. Family members of the deceased have been informed.
