Akhanda 2 teaser: “Even the God of Death obeys the command of my Lord Shiva. Do you think you can get away?” Akhanda (Nandamuri Balakrishna) roars at a rival. Beside him, on both sides, are several people wielding machine guns. As he raises his trident into the air, it becomes clear that these were simply bodies of people he had already eliminated. Now, they are simply impaled and displayed on his weapon. Thus begins the teaser of director Boyapati Srinu’s Akhanda 2, a sequel to the actor and director’s 2021 blockbuster action drama Akhanda.
In the 77-second teaser, we see Balakrishna’s character embodying the fierce essence of Lord Shiva, always ready to annihilate evil forces in the snowy Himalayas using his divine trident. As the promo progresses, viewers are given more glimpses of Akhanda 2’s expansive world, with a strong focus on high-octane action and grand production design, held together by the unshakable swagger of the “God of Masses” Nandamuri Balakrishna.

Written and directed by Boyapati Srinu, who previously worked with Balakrishna on films such as Simha (2010) and Legend (2014), Akhanda 2 is set for a worldwide release on September 25, 2025, coinciding with the Dasara season. The movie is bankrolled by Raam Achanta and Gopi Achanta under the banner of 14 Reels Plus. It features music by Thaman S, cinematography by C Ramprasad and Santoshh D Detake, art direction by AS Prakash, and editing by Tammiraju.
The 2021 action drama Akhanda, which starred Nandamuri Balakrishna in a dual role, also featured Pragya Jaiswal, Jagapathi Babu and Srikanth in key roles. Although it received mixed to negative reviews from critics, the film went on to become a commercial hit. Mounted on an estimated budget of Rs 50 crore, it grossed Rs 117 crore worldwide.
Balakrishna was last seen in director Bobby Kolli’s Daaku Maharaaj, which released in January this year and featured Bobby Deol, Shraddha Srinath, Pragya Jaiswal and Urvashi Rautela. Akhanda 2 also marks Boyapati Srinu’s return after two years, following the box office failure of the Ram Pothineni and Sreeleela-starrer Skanda (2023).
