US Independence Day Live Updates: A day before the federal holiday, US President Donald Trump kicked off America’s Independence Day celebrations with the America250 campaign — a yearlong celebration to commemorate 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. “We’re gonna have a big, big celebration, as you know, 250 years,” he said in his address at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, referring to his ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ —the sweeping tax and spending legislation– passed by Congress early Friday.
Possible UFC Championship fight at the White House? During his speech, Trump said a UFC championship match might be held on the White House grounds as part of the Fourth of July celebrations. “We’re going to have a UFC fight, think of this, on the grounds of the White House.” He added, “We have a lot of land there… Dana (White) is going to do it,” referring to UFC President Dana White. Trump said the event would host up to 25,000 attendees.
Tax bill victory: On Thursday, Congress passed Trump’s key tax-and-spending bill: A milestone the president highlighted at the rally. According to AP, he said, “There could be no better birthday present for America… when Congress passed the one big beautiful bill to make America great again.” He plans to sign it at a White House picnic on Friday under a flyover of stealth bombers and jets.
