The Central Bureau of Investigation said on Wednesday that it arrested a Karnataka man for allegedly engaging in sexual chats with a minor girl from the US and obtaining her private photos and videos through inducement.

The CBI said it had received inputs from the US to act against the accused, Mangaluru resident Sheikh Muizz Ahmed, under its Operation Hawk against child sexual exploitation. A court has sent him to judicial custody.

According to the CBI, Sheikh Muizz Ahmed had sexual chats with a minor girl from the US on the social media platform Discord in March 2024.
