Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, who was in Bihar on Sunday, cancelled an “indoor meeting” in Patna where he was supposed to meet representatives of the Pasmanda Muslim community. Sources said the meeting was being organised by a former JDU leader not associated with any party at the moment, but the Congress chief felt “uncomfortable” with the meeting and took a call two days ago to cancel it.

With elections for the BJP national president expected in the near future, office-bearers in the party’s Delhi unit are keeping a close eye on the several posts that may be up for grabs in the national unit as a result of the organisational churn. A section of the Delhi BJP leaders have high hopes of moving up the ladder because of the party’s good show in the recent Delhi Assembly elections that brought the party back to power after 27 years.

Throw Out The Towel

A senior officer of the Border Security Force (BSF) has issued an order asking all personnel to discontinue the use of towels on the seats of their vehicles as well as on the chairs in their offices. Now, BSF officers are looking for clues to find out the trigger behind the order.
