Pushpa 2 box office collections Day 20 early report: The week didn’t start off on a good note for both Allu Arjun and team Pushpa 2: The Rule. While the actor is currently facing a horrid time as he has been charged in the theatre stampede case, the Sukumar directorial faced its steepest drop on Monday as the domestic collection was Rs 13 crore. This was the lowest number made by the film in its 19-day run. Now, on day 20, after considering the noon, matinee, and evening shows, the film is expected to dip even further. After three shows, the numbers have just about reached Rs 8.97 crore, and the trends indicate that the movie might manage to cross the double digit mark.

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the early reports for Day 20 reveal that the occupancy for the Hindi and Telugu versions stand at 16.63% and 22.27%, respectively. The total domestic collection now stand at Rs 1084.57 crore, and the film has already beat Baahubali 2: The Conclusion to take the top spot in the highest grossing Indian films in the domestic market list. We had earlier reported how the next targets would be the worldwide collections of Baahubali 2 and Dangal. Before the release of the movie, the makers promised that the Allu Arjun starrer would definitely break into the Rs 1000 crore club, and it did the same with a brilliant show at the box-office. However, it is showing signs of slowing down in various parts of the country. It doesn’t help the case of Pushpa 2 that it is set to face intense competition in the Hindi market with the release of the much-awaited Varun Dhawan film, Baby John

While there were reports suggesting that Pushpa 2 has set its sights on the Rs 2000 crore club, it would be interesting to see if the movie releases in newer global markets to reach this number because with the places it has released now, this number seems too far-fetched a dream. But, it is impossible to write off the Pushpa juggernaut, especially since it is the holiday season, and we might see the resurgence of the collections.

Also, despite the dip in the collections, the movie created yet another record. The Hindi version of Pushpa 2 has become the first Hindi film to cross the Rs 700 crore mark. Sharing a poster celebrating this achievement, Mythri Movie Makers, who has backed both the instalments, said, “Pushpa Raj introduces the 700 CRORE CLUB to HINDI CINEMA. The first-ever-film to collect 700 CRORES in Hindi. Pushpa 2 The Rule collects massive 704.25 CRORES NETT in Hindi.”

Also starring Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, Ajay, and Rao Ramesh, Pushpa 2 hit the screens on December 5, and has been receiving major critical and commercial acclaim across the world. Although the film has the lead up to a potential Pushpa 3, it is not sure if the movie would go on floors immediately, as it is speculated that Allu Arjun’s next would be a Trivikram Srinivas film, and Sukumar is set to helm Ram Charan’s next after RC 17 with Buchi Babu Sana.
