Paatal Lok season 2 to feature in Prime Video’s slate in 2025; streamer announces January premiere

Prime Video is turning back the clock, and taking us back to the time when streaming platforms were putting together something unique and novel every week to keep us engaged to the screen at a time when everyone was home due to the global lockdown. After the launch of the second season of Bandish Bandits, the streamer is now set to bring back the much-awaited second season of the gritty Paatal Lok.

Announcing the release date with a new poster, Prime Video wrote, “Gates open this year. New Season, Jan 17.” The sequel is set to begin streaming on January 17, and is directed by Avinash Arun, who not only helmed the first season, but also went on to make the poignant feature, Three of Us, between the two seasons.

The series, headlined by Jaideep Ahlawat, who played the no-nonsense cop Hathiram Chaudhary, will feature the actor in the lead role in the second season too. Paatal Lok season 2 will also see the return of actors Gul Panag, and Ishwak Singh, who reprise their roles of Hathiram’s wife Renu, and assistant cop Imran, respectively. Created by Sudip Sharma, Paatal Lok season 2 will also find newer entries to the world that explores the cruel underbelly of the society. The new cast members include Tillotama Shome, and Nagesh Kukunoor.

Backed by Clean Slate Filmz Production, in association with Eunoia Films LLP, Paatal Lok season 2 is set to kickstart the Prime Video slate in 2025.
